Educational Interests
Dr. Nicole Nagle earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sport Studies from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She then went on to graduate school at New York Medical College, earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her Doctoral Thesis was in the Retention of Primitive Reflexes in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Nagle joined the Department of Kinesiology and Health Faculty in the Fall of 2012 as a Part Time Lecturer (PTL). In the Fall of 2015, she transitioned to full time faculty as an Academic Instructor. Dr. Nagle is the Program Director of the new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) 4+3 Program between the Department of Kinesiology and Health and the Rutgers School of Health Professions Doctor of Physical Therapy North and South Programs. During the summer Dr. Nagle runs a Pre-College Physical Therapy Summer Academy for high school students interested in a career in Physical Therapy.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Nagle is a practicing physical therapist. Her specialty area is outpatient orthopedics with a manual based approach and concussions. Her thirst for knowledge is forever growing, as she regularly participates in continuing education courses. As a clinician, besides treating she has mentored Rutgers University Students for their internship in Exercise Science, and served as a Clinical Instructor for students from the Rutgers Newark and Kean Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Programs. She feels that as a practicing clinician she offers a unique facet by providing the students with insight into the practical application of their coursework in the professional field.
