Associate/Full Professor in Exercise and Aging


The Department of Kinesiology and Health at Rutgers University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. The new faculty member will be expected to maintain an active, externally-funded program of research and contribute to the teaching and service mission of the department and university. Candidates with expertise in the areas of aging, chronic disease, and the maintenance of functional independence across the lifespan are encouraged to apply.   
Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will enhance the research and grant portfolio of the department, be committed to quality teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students, and perform service to the department, university, and professional community.
Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in Kinesiology or a related field and have a record of success in external funding in support of a robust program of research. Evidence of successful teaching and effective graduate student mentoring is also required. Priority will be given to applicants whose research augments current department strengths and can further existing collaborations with other units across the college and university (Medicine, Nutritional Sciences, Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research).

The Department of Kinesiology and Health is housed within the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University and has approximately 1,000 undergraduate majors. There is a new graduate program in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and many outstanding collaborative opportunities exist both within the department and across other units.
