Dr. Lisa Rossman Murphy is a faculty member and assistant teaching professor of Rutgers University in the Department of Kinesiology and Health. She is a graduate of Rutgers College, Rutgers University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Physical Therapy from The City University of New York at the College of Staten Island. She earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University.
Dr. Rossman Murphy is a practicing physical therapist, specializing in pediatrics. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and an advocate within the community, working with local pediatricians and other practitioners in an integrative approach toward pediatric wellness. She is a founder of the Breastfeeding and Development Community of Practice within the Pediatric APTA, a special interest group of physical therapists specializing in improving infant breastfeeding biomechanics.
The CSDKHI was established by Dr. Rossman Murphy to integrate her clinical commitment to improving children’s movement and functional abilities with her academic mission of educating students about the importance of physical literacy. The center also creates opportunities for experiential learning and community service, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills beyond the classroom while supporting children’s engagement in physical activity.
