Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Rutgers University.  We invite you to visit our site and learn more about our department and the opportunities we offer.

Through teaching and cutting-edge research, our students specialize in one of two academic areas: Exercise Science and Sport Management. Our program in Exercise Science educates students in the life sciences for careers in a variety of areas including medicine, physical and occupational therapy, athletic training, and exercise physiology. The program in Sport Management prepares our students for careers in the world of sports business including marketers, athletic directors, and facility managers.

Our Department offers graduate studies in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and in Global Sports Business.  Finally, it is the home of many specialized centers, focusing on the health and well-being of people of all ages.

Please take time and look around our site, or better yet, stop by Loree Gymnasium and say hello!

Our interdisciplinary team of scientists and practitioners showed participants how they are able to:

  • Improve physical and mental health through diet, activity, sleep, and stress management
  • Manage stress using mindfulness meditation, yoga, and other behavioral and cognitive strategies
  • Use simple change management and motivational techniques to break entrenched habits for better health
  • Apply these same principles and practices to help clients and staff members improve their health
