  • The Honors in Research program is designed to immerse students in a research project during their senior year. This highly competitive 3-semester program starts in the spring semester of junior year with a seminar that examines core principles of research. The students then embark on a yearlong mentored research project that spans scientific and non-scientific fields. The students learn the tools and techniques for good research; fill themselves with information and facts; and, most importantly, begin to “think like a researcher”.

We are very proud of the following Honors in Research students who completed this rigorous program, often while also juggling a full course-load, part-time jobs, internships, volunteer work, and other personal demands. These students represent the ‘elite thinkers’ of the 2024 graduating class.

  • Students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy 4+3 Program began fulfilling the many requirements of this highly competitive program in their first year at Rutgers.  They have maintained a high GPA while working and/or volunteering hundreds of hours in various Physical Therapy clinics, have held leadership positions in university clubs, conducted research, and performed community service, earning thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They truly embody the qualities of their future profession.

  • The American Kinesiology Association’s Undergraduate Scholar Award is an award that is given to an undergraduate student who is committed to promoting and enhancing kinesiology as a unified field of study and to advancing its many applications.

The Chancellor Leadership Award is given to a graduating Rutgers senior who exemplifies excellence and truly embodies a commitment to leadership and involvement on campus and/or in the community. This person demonstrates that they have served in multiple campus leadership positions throughout their academic journey, having left a positive and lasting impression on the community through initiating, leading or supporting projects of activism or advocacy for social justice, inclusion, and diversity in unique and innovative ways.
